Eat, Pray, Love
Most of us have heard of the book, Eat, Pray, Love where the narrator has 3 different experiences in 3 different locations. So I decided to talk about my summer in Europe based on that concept.
London, even though it was the location for the rocket training, it was also when I made the conscious decision to eat anything I wanted. Having had my whole life have had a restricted yoga diet, which means no breakfast, I wanted to bend the rules and feed my body and spirit. The high paced London lifestyle was the perfect place to do that. I enjoyed making omelets for Amme and I early in the morning before we would head into the studio. The training took place in Shoreditch so for lunch we had loads of options. Honestly after the training we were both so tired that we would grab something from the train station and head straight to our flat to zone out and get into bed early. I logged that even taking the tube we were averaging 5-7 miles of walking every day in addition to 8 hours of rocket daily. We crushed it, and the only way to build endurance like that is to teach a lot. Amme and I together have over 44 years experience in teaching! The rocket training was a huge success and we had many return students who have taken over 2 rocket trainings. These trainings we offered rocket 1 and rocket 2. If you were already teaching rocket 1 you were encouraged to start teaching rocket 2.
Pray Brighton
After I lead a training, I like to take a couple days to rest and reflect on what just happened. So I decided to take a train south of London to Brighton beach. Brighton is located on the English Channel and is known for embracing everyone and everything slightly strange, colorful and diverse. My hotel had a balcony with an ocean view. I checked in by myself as I have become very adept at traveling solo.
My step dad that raised me passed within this past year and I felt once I was by myself I would have some time to grieve and process my loss. It happened early one morning, I woke up with the sunrise and decided to put on one of my new dresses and take a walk down the pier. My dress was inspired by Stevie Nicks who sang with Fleetwood Mac. My step dad was a former rock concert promoter in the 70's. I made my way down the world famous Brighton Pier, found a chair and began to stare at the sea. It was so beautiful, everything was shimmering from the sun's bright rays and the reflection that that the sea gave off reached into infinity, being by myself I could feel the multitude of love and loss and in silence a stream of salt watery tears ran down my face. I may of began to make a few noises as one does when they cry, paying no attention to other people around me it was my moment to feel the oneness of the universe and how when people leave their human bodies they are still with us in the energy of the universe and in quiet moments you can feel them.
Ireland Love
To coincide with traveling halfway across the world, one of the rocket ladies invited me to Ireland and we decided to set up an introduction to a rocket yoga workshop in Belfast. So in my spirited yogini way, I booked a plane ticket once in England to fly out of Gatwick, which is much smaller than the main London airport Heathrow, and therefore much easier to get in and out of, these are the types of things you learn when you travel abroad . Flying directly into Belfast I was met by Ciara and we drove 30 miles up north to her home. Suddenly I was in the Game of Thrones world and around some of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. When you find yourself in the “Causeways” without planning it, the Causeways is one of the natural wonders of the world, you have a deep understanding that the universe is so infinite and we are just tiny particles and our life itself is a blip on the radar. You can find a deep silence within and without thoughts of space and time and it's in those moments you can truly LOVE yourself.
The rocket yoga workshop in Belfast at Studio 52 was a huge success. Ciara and I were brought together by the power of the rocket and I left Ireland feeling renewed and not only in love with myself but I had renewed my love for life again. So as part of my teaching the rocket is to impart LOVE. Larry Schultz philosophy of focusing on what you are doing right in your practice, instead of the layer of insecurities that are covering us all so deeply that we have lost our inner voice. As I have adopted Larry Schultz philosophy into my life and heart I want to empower my students to connect to their innermost voice that encourages joy, peace and self love. So here I am 22 years in the rocket system and I’m really just a baby, just beginning to manifest my vision. I’ve already lived many lives and raised 2 sons that are now aged 18 and 20 and having done that at the tender age of 42, possibilities are endless for growing the rocket medine yoga program and sharing the rocket with the world and into the metaverse and beyond. Peace and love, be inspired! Amber Jean xx
